It is important that you familiarize yourself with the rules when installing your chimney.
On 01-07-2018, the new building regulation BR18 came into force. According to BR18, requirements for chimney installation have changed.
The changes are relevant when the chimney is installed near combustible materials, e.g., wooden ceilings, wooden walls or architraves near a door.

You can easily stay on good terms with your neighbours even when your stove is burning well. If you light it correctly, the smoke from your chimney will be almost invisible and will not bother your neighbours.
A stove has certain wear parts that you should expect to replace during its lifetime.

In general, ordinary hardwoods are the best wood to burn. They burn evenly, give little smoke, and the ash is clean and takes up very little space. Softwood can be burned too, but it burns a little faster and gives less heat for the same volume of wood.
